BEHALD

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026

BEHALD provides a space for contemplation and reflection. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the BEHALD website, create or restore a Field, or use the Field Notes feature.

BEHALD is intended for people aged 16 and over. Before entering the experience or restoring a Field using a Save Code, visitors are asked to confirm that they are at least 16. Visitors who indicate that they are under 16 are directed away from the experience. This is a self-declaration and does not independently verify a visitor's age.

1. Who is responsible?

BEHALD is operated by an individual and is not currently operated through a limited company. For privacy enquiries, questions about this policy, or requests concerning personal information, contact:

[email protected]

2. Information you provide

You can use BEHALD without registering an account or providing an email address. The website allows you to create a Field by choosing a Lens and five Core cards.

A Save Code allows you to restore the same Field later. The code encodes the information needed to reconstruct the selected Lens and five Core cards. The current Save Code service does not create a separate database record for each Field.

Your Save Code should be treated as private. Anyone who obtains the code may be able to restore the associated Field. If you download your Field Notes, the downloaded file may contain your Save Code as well as your written reflections. Keep the code and file somewhere secure.

BEHALD does not currently require you to submit your reflections or other personal details to use the experience.

3. Notes and reflections

The Field Notes feature allows you to write reflections associated with your Field. While you use the feature, these notes are held in the active browser session in application memory. They are not sent to BEHALD's servers through the Save Code service and are not included in the Save Code itself.

You can download your notes as a text file. The downloaded file includes your written reflections, the Lens and Core card details, and the Save Code where one is available. Once downloaded, the file is outside BEHALD's control. You are responsible for keeping it secure and deciding whether to share it.

After a successful download is triggered, the notes are cleared from the current BEHALD session and the notepad closes. You can also delete notes using the notepad's deletion option. Closing or minimising the notepad alone does not delete the notes.

Notes are not designed to be a secure or permanent personal journal. Anyone with access to your device or active browser session may be able to read them. Avoid entering confidential information or details that could identify you or another person.

4. Feedback

After completing a Field, you may be offered an optional feedback form. It asks you to give a required rating from 1 to 5 and provides optional text fields for what worked well, what could be improved, and any additional comments. You can use BEHALD without submitting feedback.

The feedback form does not ask for your name, email address, or an account. When you submit it, the rating, any text you provide, and the submission time are stored in a separate feedback table in BEHALD's Cloudflare D1 database. The application does not add your IP address or browser user-agent to the feedback record. Cloudflare may still process technical information about the request as part of hosting, security, and service delivery, as described below.

Feedback records are scheduled for deletion when they are more than 12 months old. The cleanup runs automatically each day, so a record may remain for up to approximately 12 months after submission. Technical logs or other records maintained by Cloudflare may have separate retention arrangements.

5. Cookies, browser storage and analytics

BEHALD does not require an account or email registration. Checks of the local development version found no cookies, Local Storage entries or Session Storage entries. Checks of the hosted development website did not identify requests matching the usual Cloudflare Web Analytics beacon or Cloudflare Insights request names.

Cloudflare Real User Measurements (RUM) has been disabled in the current Cloudflare configuration. These checks support the conclusion that BEHALD is not currently configured to use browser-based analytics to track individual visitors. They do not guarantee that every browser, browser extension, page or future configuration will behave identically.

Cloudflare may process technical information as part of hosting, delivering and protecting the website. This infrastructure processing is distinct from browser-based analytics and is described in the next section.

This policy will be updated if BEHALD introduces cookies, browser storage or analytics that materially change how information is handled.

6. Service providers and technical information

BEHALD uses Cloudflare to host and deliver the website and to operate the Save Code service.

When you visit the website or use the Save Code service, Cloudflare may process technical information associated with requests. Depending on the service and circumstances, this may include IP addresses, requested URLs, browser and device information, request details, and information used to deliver content, maintain service reliability, report traffic or protect against malicious activity.

The BEHALD Worker also records certain request errors in its application logs. The current application code does not create a database record for each Field, store Field Notes on the server, or require email registration for Save Code creation or restoration.

Cloudflare may process technical information under its own service terms and privacy arrangements. Its systems and records may be subject to retention periods and operational practices that BEHALD does not directly control. The precise categories of technical information retained and the applicable retention periods have not been independently established by the checks described above.

7. How long information is kept

BEHALD does not currently maintain a separate database record for each Field. The Save Code encodes the information required to reconstruct the Field, rather than referring to a stored Field record. Keep your Save Code if you want to restore your Field later.

Field Notes are held in browser memory during the active session. They can be cleared using the notepad's deletion option or following a successful notes download. A downloaded file remains on your device until you move or delete it.

Feedback records are scheduled for deletion when they are more than 12 months old. Technical logs and other records held by Cloudflare may be retained according to the applicable services, operational requirements and retention arrangements. BEHALD has not independently confirmed the retention period for every such technical record.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on the applicable data protection law and your circumstances, you may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to access, correct or erase information, restrict processing, object to processing, or request a copy of information. You may also have the right to raise a concern with the relevant supervisory authority.

To make a privacy enquiry or request, contact [email protected]. We may need further information to understand and respond to your request.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as BEHALD develops or its technical arrangements change. The date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised. Material changes will be reflected in the published policy.
