About BEHALD
BEHALD is a structured place for contemplation, self-reflection, and self-examination.
BEHALD is intended for people aged 16 and over.
It is designed for moments when you want to pause, look more closely, or consider something from another angle. You might arrive with a decision, a difficulty, a feeling, a relationship, or simply a sense that there is more to see.
BEHALD can be used to examine questions of identity, values, belief, meaning, purpose, responsibility, and uncertainty. It does not set out to give you an answer. It gives form to reflection without prescribing where that reflection should lead.
What matters is what you notice, what you question, and what becomes visible when you take the time to look.
Contemplation rather than prediction
BEHALD does not predict what will happen, tell you what to think, or provide a prescribed answer.
It creates a structured space in which something may become more visible: a question, a tension, an assumption, a belief, a possibility, or simply something you had not noticed before.
A system for looking
BEHALD draws on ideas from philosophy, psychology, ethics, religion and the wider history of human reflection. These traditions are not used to provide a single doctrine or interpretation. They provide ways of examining questions about truth, identity, values, meaning, purpose, responsibility, freedom, uncertainty, and how we should live.
Some of these are existential questions: questions about meaning, purpose, identity, freedom, responsibility, uncertainty, and mortality. BEHALD does not attempt to settle them. It provides a structured way to consider them.
How BEHALD is structured
The Lens establishes how you look. The Core determines what is encountered. The Field brings five Core cards into relationship, creating a structure through which you can form a working question and look again.
The experience is deliberately open. What you encounter is yours to consider.
